Veterinarian / Owner – Dr Sarah Hopf
Sarah was born and bred in Belgium. After 4 years of studying veterinary science at the University of Ghent, she transferred to Sydney University and graduated with honours in 2007. For the next 12 years, Sarah focussed on pigs.
In 2019, Sarah decided to make the change back to small animals and after working for the Animal Welfare League, worked at both the Gardens Vet Clinic and Playford Vet Clinic.
Sarah has a passion for all things cats – some might even call her a “crazy cat lady”, and in particular cat behaviour. She also has an interest in pockets pets, especially guinea pigs and poultry.
Sarah loves spending her spare time with her husband and 3 children camping all over the country side. She loves all things food and wine and enjoys yoga to stay fit.
Nurse – Montana Skrypek
Our vet nurse Montana was born and raised here in Adelaide, not too far from where we are based actually!
Montana’s journey in veterinary care began when her passion for animals and medicine led her to pursue a career in veterinary nursing. She has a keen interest in all things medical and is always thriving for more knowledge.
As a certified Vet Nurse, Montana began her career over 2 years ago now.
Outside of work you will find Montana mostly with her friends, partner and family. She has 2 dogs, Lily and Kirra which she loves and you will see below in the photo. She also has a little cat, Nevada, who is always up to no good at home!
Next time you visit Playford Vet Clinic, be sure to say hello to Montana!
Manager / Owner – John Hopf
Our Practice Manager John, is married to Dr Sarah, living with their children and small animals. Originally a country boy, he grew up in the small town of Tennant Creek, coming to Adelaide to complete his Bachelor and Doctorate in Information Technology at UniSA.
John is fresh into the veterinary industry having worked in the defence industry for 17 years initially as a software engineer, but transitioning into project management in his later years. He currently is studying an MBA, whilst managing the clinic. It’s good to see him picking things up quickly, especially the phone and the dog poop!
Outside of work, John plays the bass and has been active in the Adelaide music scene for some time. He’s currently part of Metallica cover band No Life ‘Til Leather and original band Wings Aflame. When he’s not holding a bass guitar, you may find him with a fishing rod, casting lures in the waters along Adelaide’s coastline and in the local reservoirs.
He loves small animals as much as Dr Sarah and Nurse Monty and is looking forward to meeting you and your lovely pets at the clinic in the near future.
